Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister Urges End to Gaza Conflict at Joint Press Conference

Jordan refuses to assist Netanyahu in cleaning up Gaza.

Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi has reaffirmed his country’s stance on the Gaza Strip conflict during a joint press conference with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Yerapetritis. According to Al-Safadi, Jordan will not be sending forces to replace Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip. Instead, he urged all parties involved to work towards a fair agreement that includes a permanent ceasefire and the release of all prisoners and detainees.

Al-Safadi stressed that any approach that deals with Gaza separately from the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories is unacceptable. He warned that any further escalation of the conflict poses a significant risk to regional stability and emphasized the importance of halting aggression in Gaza and respecting international law.

The Jordanian Foreign Minister expressed full support for efforts made by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States to negotiate a ceasefire agreement. He believes that such an agreement is the first step towards addressing the humanitarian crisis caused by recent aggression in Gaza.

In conclusion, Al-Safadi called for a clear action plan with a specific goal of achieving a two-state solution within a defined timeline. He urged all parties involved to respect the Charter of the United Nations and work towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict that addresses its root causes.
