The Kandiyohi County Board has scheduled an upcoming meeting to discuss various issues, including the potential transfer of a 16-bed, adult behavioral health facility to state ownership. The facility was built in 2008 and leased to the state until the final payment was made in 2018. Updates will also be presented by Safe Avenues, which provides shelter and advocacy for victims of domestic or sexual violence, and the Primacy Strategy Group, which is seeking federal funding opportunities for county projects.
The board will also consider adopting a proposed 10-year Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan, which outlines solid waste programs. Additionally, a memorandum of agreement with nonprofit Children’s Dental Services to provide dental care for children from low-income families will be discussed. The board will also consider vacating a portion of Brower Avenue right-of-way along the north shore of Green Lake and bids for grading and surfacing County Road 104 near Diamond Lake Park and for line painting on Kandiyohi County highways.
