Korean Swimming Trials: 2024 Paris Olympics Qualifiers – Men’s 400m and 50m Events

In Gimcheon, the 2024 Korean Olympic Trials came to an end. The men’s 400m free event was dominated by world champion Kim Woomin, who swam a time of 3:43.69. Kim has already qualified for the Paris Olympics in both the 200m free and 1500m free events.

In the men’s 50m free, Ji Yuchan took gold with a time of 22.25, followed by Baek In-chul in 22.47 and Hwang Sunwoo in 22.53. Ji is the reigning Asian Games champion in this event and qualified for the Olympics with his national and Games record of 21.72 set last year. The Korean Swimming Federation’s High-Performance Committee will soon decide on the final roster for Paris.

Other notable results include Kim Jihun winning the men’s 100m fly, Heo Yeon-kyung taking gold in the women’s 50m free, Kim Seoyeong as the quickest in the women’s 100m fly, and Kim Minseop winning the men’s 400m IM.

Through Day 5 of the trials, several athletes have already secured their spots in Paris, including Kim Woomin, Lee Juho, Lee Eunji, Choi Dong-yeol, Kim Minseop, Kim Seoyeong, Hwang Sunwoo, Cho Sung Jae
