Larian Studios Moves On: No Baldur’s Gate Sequel, Two New Independent Projects in the Works

Larian Studios nixes plans for “Baldur’s Gate 4” and announces two new projects in development

Larian Studios, the creators of the critically acclaimed game Baldur’s Gate 3, have announced that they will not be working on a sequel to the game. Instead, they are focusing on two new independent projects. The studio has already released Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3, which fixes bugs and improves endings.

Larian Studios has received recognition for their work on Baldur’s Gate 3 in several awards ceremonies, including the Golden Joysticks, Game Developers Choice, DICE, The Game Awards, BAFTA Games Awards, Hugo Awards, and GLAAD Media Awards. The game offers an open world for players to explore freely with adapted lore and characters depending on player decisions.

Moving forward, Larian Studios is excited about the development of their two new projects and is looking forward to what the future holds for their studio. They are focusing on creating new titles of their own rather than continuing the Baldur’s Gate series.
