Lummus Technology Secures Cumene License with Indian Oil Corp. Ltd., Enhancing Efficiency and Yield at Their Paradip Plant

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has chosen Lummus Technology for their Cumene production.

IndianOil Corp. Ltd. (IOCL) has recently selected Lummus Technology’s Lummus/Versalis cumene technology for a 440 KTA unit in Paradip, India, as part of a petrochemical and polymers expansion at their complex in Paradip. This is the second recent cumene license in India for Lummus, strengthening its relationship with IOCL.

Lummus Technology’s Chief Business Officer for Polymers and Petrochemicals, Romain Lemoine, stated that the cumene technology will offer IOCL lower energy costs, reliability, operational efficiency, and exceptional product yield. This will help IOCL optimize their plant economics and support their growth initiatives. Lummus looks forward to continuing to work with IOCL on another successful project and further building on their long-time relationship.

Lummus’ scope for this project includes the technology license for the cumene technology, basic design engineering, proprietary catalyst, site services, advisory services, and training. IOCL has licensed multiple Lummus technologies in the past, including naphtha cracker, INDMAX FCC, and polypropylene technologies at complexes across India.
