Madhu Arora Appointed as Member of Technology/Digital Communication Commission in DoT | India News

In recent news, Madhu Arora has been appointed as the Member, Technology/Digital Communication Commission, formerly known as the Telecom Commission, at the Indian Department of Telecom (DOT) effective April 1, 2024. Arora is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the telecommunications industry.

Prior to her new role, Arora served as Advisor, Licensing in the DOT and excelled as CGM, Telecom West Bengal from September 2021 to January 2024. She is an alumna of the 1986 batch of Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) and has had a distinguished career spanning over 36 years. Arora graduated at the top of her batch and has consistently exhibited exceptional leadership qualities throughout her professional journey.

Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication from Delhi College of Engineering, an MBA from the University of Queensland, and an LLB from Campus Law Centre, Delhi University where she achieved high rankings. Recognized for her contributions to the telecommunications sector, Arora played a pivotal role in the restructuring of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) during her tenure as nodal Principal GM.

Known for her dynamic, focused and empathetic leadership style, Arora is expected to drive the DOT towards further technological advancements under her guidance. Her appointment highlights the Indian government’s commitment to leveraging top talent to foster innovation and progress in the telecommunications industry essential for the country’s growth and connectivity in the digital era.
