Manchester City’s Striker Criticizes Performance in FA Cup Loss to Manchester United

‘Key players were absent in FA Cup final’

Manchester City’s performance in the FA Cup final has been criticized by former Premier League striker Chris Sutton, who stated that their “big players did not show up.” The team, managed by Pep Guardiola, lost 2-1 to Erik ten Hag’s attacking Manchester United team.

Sutton, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, emphasized the significance of the match being a Manchester derby and noted that City had lost to their biggest rivals. He highlighted the underwhelming performances of key players such as Kevin de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, and Phil Foden. Despite being in excellent form throughout the season, Foden was not at his best during the final.

Ultimately, Sutton credited Manchester United for their performance and deserved victory. He acknowledged that City had been expected to win comfortably if their key players had performed up to their usual standards.
