Martinsville Man Arrested for Non-Life-Threatening Shot in Bar’s Parking Lot: Allegations of Violent Crime Surface

Martinsville officials announce arrest in connection with shooting at Tequila’s Sports Bar and Grill

A Martinsville man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that took place at Tequila’s Sports Bar and Grill in the city. Rosario Nasiar Eggleston, a 24-year-old resident of Martinsville, has been charged with several offenses including malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon.

On May 17 around 11:45 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the bar’s parking lot. A 20-year-old Martinsville resident was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg and was taken to SOVAH Health Martinsville for treatment.

During the investigation, officers gathered evidence, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed surveillance footage, leading to the identification and arrest of Eggleston. Another individual, 24-year-old Jalen Davon Pritchett, is wanted for similar charges in connection with the shooting.

The case is still under investigation, and anyone with information regarding the incident or Pritchett’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Martinsville Police Department or call the Crime Stoppers line. Callers with information that leads to an arrest and conviction may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500.
