Meet the New WSFA Sports Reporter: Davis Baker

WSFA 12 News is proud to introduce its newest sports reporter, Davis Baker, to the team. Baker has recently joined WSFA after serving as the sports director for KTEN in Denison, Texas for the past two years. During his time at KTEN-TV, he was the weeknight sports anchor and delivered local and regional sports news from north Texas and southeast Oklahoma. Baker also produced and hosted regular feature shows and football previews.

A Georgia native, Davis graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism before working at KTEN. He has a background in sports broadcasting, including internships at WRBL in Columbus, Ga., and writing for “Bulldawg Illustrated” in Athens, Ga., covering UGA sports. Baker expressed his enthusiasm for SEC sports and his eagerness to highlight athletes in Alabama.

Excited to work alongside Rosie Langello, WSFA’s sports director, Baker stated, “I’m honored and excited to join the WSFA team and look forward to showcasing athletes from high school, college, and the pros in and around Montgomery.” Langello also shared her excitement about the new partnership, expressing her confidence in Baker and his background in sports reporting.

During his time at KTEN-TV, Baker developed a passion for community involvement through his work with local charities such as Habitat for Humanity. This passion for giving back extends beyond just volunteering – he also actively seeks out opportunities to tell stories that not only entertain but also inspire change within our society. Langello emphasized this quality when she said “Please welcome him with open arms.” The WSFA team is eagerly anticipating the impact that Davis Baker will have on sports reporting in Montgomery and beyond.”
