Mental Health Support for Rochester Hills Splash Pad Shooting Victims: Family Assistance Center Relocated to Offer Counseling, Resources

On Monday, families affected by the Rochester Hills splash pad shooting will have access to mental health support closer to home. The Family Assistance Center, established by Oakland County and Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN), has been relocated to the Rochester Community Schools Administration Building.

Counselors will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 to 7 p.m. for victims, their families, and others affected by the violence. As of Friday afternoon, 37 individuals have already sought services at the center, according to county officials. Additionally, OCHN will have a mental health resource table at the Festival of the Hills on Wednesday, June 26, providing community resources rather than on-site counseling that day.

For those unable to visit the Family Assistance Center, they can call (800) 848-5533 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to speak with Oakland County’s Nurse on Call and learn about mental health resources. The Michigan Crisis and Access Line is also available 24/7 at 988 for immediate assistance.

To contact OCHN’s non-emergency behavioral health access department, individuals can call (248) 464-6363 between 8 a.m
