Lummus Technology has recently licensed its innovative Thermal Crude to Chemicals (TC2C™) technology to MOGAS Industries for the South Korean S-Oil Shaheen project. This cutting-edge technology converts whole crude and other refinery orphan streams into high-value olefin and aromatic products.
MOGAS will provide over ninety severe service valves and actuation packages for the project, including multiple fast-acting, metal-seated emergency shutdown valves. CEO Matt Mogas expressed excitement about being a part of Aramco’s significant investment in South Korea and the first TC2C™ process plant. This investment is expected to positively impact the global marketplace by supporting clean heavy crude upgrading that aligns with the green economy.
MOGAS Industries has a proven track record of success in ebullated bed hydrocracking, having previously worked with Chevron Lummus Global (CLG) on this technology. The S-Oil Shaheen project is yet another testament to MOGAS’s commitment to providing top-notch solutions in the downstream sector.
