In a bid to free up transfer funds for new manager Antonio Conte, Napoli is reportedly considering lowering the asking price for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Initially, Napoli had set a release clause of €150M, which had deterred potential suitors. However, with Conte keen on landing Belgian international striker Romelu Lukaku this summer and Chelsea not engaging in any negotiations with the club, Osimhen’s options appear to be limited.
According to Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo, Conte is keen on bringing Lukaku to Napoli and needs funds to make that happen. As a result, Osimhen’s future at the club remains uncertain. While there have been offers with high salaries, it seems like Osimhen prefers a move to the English Premier League. With his future uncertain and Napoli needing funds for their own signings, it appears that Osimhen may have to adjust his expectations if he wants to leave Italy this summer.
