NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Series Make Debut at Iowa Speedway with Practice Sessions for Sunday’s Inaugural Race

NASCAR Friday Schedule at Iowa Speedway

On Friday, the NASCAR Cup cars made their debut on the track at Iowa Speedway. The Cup Series had a 50-minute practice session in preparation for Sunday’s inaugural race at the 7/8-mile track in Newton, Iowa. The Xfinity Series also had a 50-minute practice session on Friday. Both series’ practices were broadcast on USA Network.

The weather at Iowa Speedway on Friday was partly cloudy with a high of 85 degrees, and there was no chance of rain for the Xfinity and Cup practice sessions. The schedule for Friday included the garage opening at 9 a.m. for the ARCO Menards Series, followed by Xfinity Series and Cup Series track activity from 1:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The day’s track activity included ARCO practice and qualifying, as well as Xfinity and Cup practice sessions. The Xfinity practice was broadcast on USA Network, while the Cup practice was aired on USA Network, Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
