New Completion Date for Olkiluoto 3 Maintenance Set: Disruptions in Start-up Schedules and Electricity Prices on Exchange.

Once again, the annual maintenance of Olkiluoto 3 is postponed

The annual maintenance of Olkiluoto 3, which was set to begin on April 8, has been extended by an additional four days. This delay is due to ongoing research on the turbine-generator, according to TVO. The new completion date for the maintenance is now May 14. Meanwhile, preparations for the start-up of Olkiluoto 2 are already underway.

The delay in the maintenance of Olkiluoto 3 has had a significant impact on electricity prices on the exchange in recent weeks. With the original completion date for maintenance being set for April 8, this extension has caused disruptions in the start-up schedules and maintenance plans. In addition, the maintenance of Olkiluoto 2 was scheduled to end on May 6 but has also faced delays.

Despite these setbacks, efforts are still ongoing to ensure a smooth transition to full operation once maintenance is completed. The situation has required adjustments to be made to the maintenance schedules and has led to fluctuations in electricity prices. However, with continued dedication from both the staff and management at Olkiluoto, it remains hopeful that they will be able to overcome these challenges and achieve their goals.
