New York Giants struggle to improve offensive line despite big-name additions

Despite adding several new players to the mix, the New York Giants’ offensive line is still ranked as one of the worst in the league by Pro Football Focus. The team struggled with 85 sacks last season due to a combination of injuries and underperforming players, including Evan Neal, John Michael Schmitz, and Andrew Thomas.

General manager Joe Schoen made improving the offensive line a priority during free agency, bringing in Jon Runyan Jr., Jermaine Eluemunor, Matt Nelson, Austin Schlottmann, and Aaron Stinnie. However, despite these additions, the line’s performance remains below expectations.

The Giants are hopeful that Eluemunor and Runyan will be able to help bolster the line this upcoming season. However, the success of the line still largely depends on players like Neal who may be on their last chance to prove themselves at their position.

As the upcoming season approaches, the Giants are determined to make significant improvements on their offensive line compared to their struggles in 2023. Despite their efforts, they still face challenges in solidifying their line for the coming year.
