NFL Analyst: Green Bay Packers’ Jayden Reed Poised for a Breakout Second Season as a Top NFL Slot Receiver

Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers WR, chosen for 2024 All-Breakout Team

Bucky Brooks of NFL.com believes that Green Bay Packers receiver Jayden Reed could have a breakout second season after his impressive rookie campaign. In his rookie year, Reed led the Packers in receptions, receiving yards, and total touchdowns, showcasing his potential as a playmaker for the team.

According to Brooks, Reed’s skills as a reliable chain mover with strong hands and dynamic running abilities make him an excellent fit for the slot position. His polished route-running skills also make him a vertical threat and a potential No. 1 option for quarterback Jordan Love.

Reed’s performance as a rookie caught the attention of Brooks, who sees similarities between Reed and former Packers slot receiver Randall Cobb. With the potential to clear 1,000 total yards and reach double-digit touchdowns in his second season, Reed could become a key target for Love and head coach Matt LaFleur in 2024.

While Reed will need to compete for targets with other pass-catchers on the team, his breakout potential is evident based on his skills and production from his rookie season. With the support of Love and the coaching staff, Reed has the opportunity to establish himself as a top receiver for the Packers in the upcoming season.
