Annual PAL Science Fair Showcases NYC Students’ STEM Skills

Recently, students from different parts of New York City took part in the Police Athletic League’s annual science fair. This event, which took place at the PAL center in Longwood, gave them a platform to showcase their knowledge in STEM subjects.

The participants were required to create structures that could withstand disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires and more for a minimum of 20 seconds. Their projects displayed an array of innovative ideas, with some students designing bridges, highways and armories to demonstrate their engineering skills.

Despite coming from different neighborhoods in the city, the students brought their creativity and passion for STEM to the fair. They highlighted their dedication to learning and exploring scientific concepts. The first-place winner received $500 towards a STEM project at their PAL center, providing them with an opportunity to further their education and pursue their interests in science and technology.
