Pacers’ Point Guard Tyrese Haliburton Suffers Setback with Sore Hamstring and Likely Out for Game 3

Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton ‘not expected’ to play in critical Game 3 against Celtics in NBA Playoffs

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, it appears that Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton will not be playing in Game 3 against the Boston Celtics due to soreness in his left hamstring. This injury forced him out of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals during the third quarter. The Pacers currently trail 2-0 in the series with Game 3 taking place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle revealed that Haliburton’s hamstring was sore at halftime, despite initially trying to play through it. However, he ultimately had to be taken out for further evaluation and treatment. Scoring 10 points in just 8 minutes before exiting the game, Haliburton was initially listed as questionable for Game 3 but now seems unlikely to participate.

Carlisle also mentioned that Haliburton was nursing a chest injury sustained during a collision with Jaylen Brown of the Celtics. The hamstring issue itself traces back to January when Haliburton suffered a Grade 1 strain against the same Celtics team following a slip while driving to the basket.
