Peruvian Centenarian Marcelino Abad Seeking to Break World Record for Longest Living Person

Marcelino Abad, a 124-year-old man from Peru, is seeking to break the world record for the oldest living person. The Peruvian government is assisting him in applying to Guinness World Records after they verified his birth certificate, which shows he was born in 1900. Abad’s longevity has been attributed to his healthy lifestyle and diet, which includes a lot of fruits and lamb meat. He also chews coca leaves, a common practice in Peru’s Andean communities.

Abad lived a secluded life for many years until he was discovered by the government in 2019. Since then, he has received a government ID and pension. To verify Abad’s claim to be the oldest living person, Guinness World Records will scrutinize official documents and evidence. Currently, the oldest living man is an 111-year-old Briton, while the oldest living woman is 117.

On April 5th, Abad celebrated his 124th birthday with a special celebration at a home for seniors. The celebration included a birthday cake with a figurine in his likeness. Abad’s resilience and good health have been praised by the government, which noted that he has led an active life despite his age. His story serves as an inspiration to people around the world who hope to live long and healthy lives like him.
