A Texas postal worker named Alvin Gauthier stumbled upon a collection of undelivered letters from a World War II veteran dating back to 1942 while loading his truck. The discovery left him struck by the historical significance of the find.
Upon further investigation, Gauthier learned that the letters were written by Marion Lamb, a veteran who served in an infantry unit during World War II. The letters were addressed to “Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lamb” in Jacksonville, but beyond that, there was little information to go on.
Gauthier was determined to reunite the letters with the intended recipients and expressed his desire to get them to the right family. He hopes to uncover more information that will lead him to the descendants of the Lamb family.
