President Biden Faces Challenges in Swing States: Economic Policies and Cost of Living Concerns

Poll shows high cost of living in Biden economy driving voters back to Trump

According to a new poll conducted by the Swing State Project, President Joe Biden may face challenges on Election Day due to dissatisfaction with his handling of the economy and concerns about the cost of living. The poll reveals that 60% of voters disapprove of Biden’s economic policies, with 73% listing the cost of living and inflation as top concerns. This contradicts Biden’s claims about building the economy from the middle and bottom.

The Swing State Project is a coalition of nonpartisan organizations, including the Cook Political Report, Democratic polling firm BSG, and Republican polling firm GS Strategy Group. The poll indicates that voters are evaluating the economy based on different factors than those highlighted by the Biden administration. While the rising cost of living and inflation are considered more significant issues by a majority of voters than federal unemployment or stock market trends, only 6% selected the stock market as a key economic marker. In contrast, 54% believe that household income is an accurate indicator of economic strength.

Former President Donald Trump is shown to be leading Biden by 47% to 44% in seven key swing states based on these findings. The data was gathered from 3,969 voters in battleground states such as Wisconsin, North Carolina, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania from May 6 to May 13.

Overall, this poll suggests that President Biden may need to reevaluate his approach to handling the economy if he wants to succeed in winning over swing voters in these key battleground states.
