A new ScreenX theater, developed by CJ 4DPlex, is set to open its largest global location just outside of New York City. The theater will be located at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, NJ, about seven miles from Times Square. The mall features a Nickelodeon-branded theme park, DreamWorks water park, and an indoor ski hill, among other attractions. It stands next to Met Life Stadium, home to two NFL teams and various concerts and events.
The new ScreenX room will have an 80-foot-wide center screen and side walls measuring 82 feet each, totaling 242 feet of ScreenX viewing range. B&B Theatres, based in Liberty, MO, will operate eight screens at the American Dream mall, marking its first location in New Jersey. The multiplex will include bowling lanes, an arcade, and food and beverage options such as a restaurant and full-service bar. More details on amenities will be released at a later date.
