Roanoke Rapids Man Arrested for Firing Gun and Hitting Vehicle in Halifax County

Man arrested for trespassing with weapon on business property

A man from Roanoke Rapids was arrested and charged with multiple counts after an incident that occurred at a business on Highway 903 outside Halifax. The man, identified as Korey Ramon Grant Jr., 33, had fired a weapon and hit a vehicle.

The report to the authorities stated that there was a man with a firearm on the premises, leading to Deputy K. Tillery locating Grant at a nearby residence with the help of Corporal G. Martin and his dog Loki.

Grant was charged with several offenses, including going armed to the terror of the public, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Due to the pending charges against him, Grant is being held at the Halifax County Detention Center without an opportunity for bond and is scheduled to appear in district court on Tuesday.
