The 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic has come to a close at Detroit Golf Club, marking the end of the sixth round of play in the PGA Tour season. The tournament, which took place over the weekend, saw players take on the Donald Ross design as they looked to kick off a hot summer stretch leading up to the FedEx Cup Playoffs, just six tournaments away.
Among the leaders after 54 holes were Akshay Bhatia, Cameron Young, Cam Davis, and Aaron Rai, all vying for their first or one of their first few PGA Tour victories. Bhatia and Davis both had strong showings during the tournament, with Davis having won the Rocket Mortgage Classic in a playoff in 2021. Meanwhile, Young was looking to build on his recent success after a historic 59 at TPC River Highlands last week that propelled him into the top 10. Rai was also in the mix, seeking his first PGA Tour victory after a T19 finish at the U.S. Open earlier this month.
