Russia’s Assault Tactics: Exhausting Ukraine Through Waves of Attacks

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has seen Russia use a tactic of head-on attacks with waves of troops to identify Ukrainian firepower positions, according to a Ukrainian officer speaking to BBC News. Lt Col Anton Bayev of the Khartia Brigade of Ukraine’s National Guard explained that Russian forces use these assaults to locate Ukrainian firing equipment and wear down the Ukrainian units constantly.

Despite suffering significant casualties in the process, Russia has continued to use this tactic in their attacks on Ukrainian cities. The relentless waves of Russian attacks have put a strain on the Ukrainian soldiers both physically and psychologically.
