Saints Swap Roles for Offensive Linemen Trevor Penning and Taliese Fuaga

Trevor Penning will be playing right tackle for the Saints’ new coaching staff

During their college careers, Trevor Penning and Taliese Fuaga played on opposite sides of the offensive line, with Penning on the left and Fuaga on the right. However, in the early 2024 offseason, the New Orleans Saints have decided to have them swap roles. This move is expected to be beneficial for both players as they continue to develop their skills.

Saints offensive line coach John Benton expressed optimism about Penning’s potential, stating that they had planned to try him out at right tackle regardless of who they drafted this year. Fuaga, a first-round pick out of Oregon State, has been practicing at left tackle during the spring. Head coach Dennis Allen explained that they are exploring different options during training camp to see where each player fits best.

While both players are currently working at their new positions, it does not mean that they will stay there permanently. The Saints are open to making adjustments based on what is best for the players’ development and the overall state of the offensive line. The situation will continue to be monitored throughout the summer as both players work hard to improve their skills and earn a spot on the team’s starting lineup.
