On Friday, Mate Rimac took to Facebook to address the rumors surrounding his robot taxi project and the alleged copying of Elon Musk’s ideas. Rimac expressed frustration at the amount of misinformation circulating about him and felt compelled to set the record straight.
In his post, Rimac clarified that while they had presented their robot taxi, Tesla had not presented theirs. He dismissed claims that they were copying Tesla’s ideas, pointing out that the speculation about Tesla’s robotaxi was just that – speculation. Rimac also highlighted the timeline of their development process, showing that they had been working on their prototype since 2020 and showcasing its development stages on Campus.
Rimac humorously remarked that he did not possess the superpowers necessary to predict future innovations. He emphasized the hard work and dedication that goes into creating a car, debunking the notion that they could replicate Tesla’s designs in a short amount of time.
