Shahid Afridi Denies Groupism Rumors in Pakistan Cricket Camp after 2024 T20 World Cup Exit

Pakistan former captain Shahid Afridi has denied rumors of groupism within the Pakistani camp after their early exit from the 2024 T20 World Cup. In an appearance on Samaa TV, Afridi emphasized that there have never been any groups within the team in previous years and suggested that recent talk of groupism is a sign of weak leadership.

Afridi blamed poor performances and poor captaincy as the reasons for Pakistan’s disappointing campaign. He particularly criticized Babar Azam’s captaincy as a major factor. The young batsman and captain came under scrutiny for his batting and leadership style, with former Pakistan cricketers like Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar offering criticism.

The final Group A game against Ireland presents a chance for Pakistan to salvage some pride before exiting the tournament. Afridi stressed the need for improved cricketing performances from both batsmen and bowlers to address the team’s shortcomings. He also urged fans to be more critical of their own country’s performance rather than spreading false rumors about groupism on social media.

Pakistan faced criticism during the tournament, with losses to USA and India leading to their group stage exit. The team’s struggles have led some fans to speculate about internal divisions within the squad, but Afridi dismissed these rumors as unfounded.

In conclusion, Pakistan will face off against Ireland in their final Group A game, and they will need to improve their cricketing skills if they want to avoid further disappointment. Fans should focus on supporting the team rather than spreading rumors about groupism on social media.
