German swimmers clinch silver and bronze at European Championships in Belgrade

The German swimmers are still on a mission to win medals at the European Championships in Belgrade. On the fifth day of pool competitions, Celine Rieder captured silver in the 1500 meter freestyle and bronze in the 4×100 meter freestyle mixed relay. Rieder, who is coached by long-distance national coach Bernd Berkhahn, finished with a time of 16:15.98 minutes, coming in second behind Hungary’s Vivien Jackl.

In the same event, Jeannette Spiwoks finished in fifth place. Hungary also won gold in the 4×100 meter freestyle mixed relay, with Germany’s quartet finishing third. The team, consisting of Martin Wrede, Peter Varjasi, Nicole Maier, and Nina Sandrine Jazy, came in with a time of 3:27.01 minutes, securing the bronze medal.

Despite coming up short by just 1.32 seconds for gold and 0.48 seconds for silver, the German swimmers continue to show strong performances at the championships. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what more they can achieve in the days ahead as they compete for even more medals at this year’s European Championships.
