The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) is pleased to announce the opening of registration for its 2024 Media Technology Summit, taking place from October 21-24 at the Ovation Hollywood in Hollywood, California. This year’s summit promises to be larger and more dynamic than ever before, with a focus on interactive sessions and off-site experiences.
Marc Zorn, SMPTE Hollywood chair and conference co-chair, expressed his excitement for this year’s event, stating that it will offer attendees an unparalleled opportunity to learn from key filmmakers about the role of technology in their creative processes. Instead of a traditional keynote address, the summit will feature multiple speaker sessions that will delve into topics such as virtual production, post-production workflows, and emerging technologies.
SMPTE has a rich history spanning over 108 years of setting standards and bringing together technologists, professionals, creatives, and executives in the media and entertainment industry. The Media Technology Summit provides a valuable platform for exchanging ideas, fostering innovation, enhancing practices, and building networks to drive progress in the industry. Early bird pricing for the summit is available from June 10 to July 31, offering access to technical sessions, presentations, panels, and the Solutions Hub.
New features like Tech Trek, an interactive tour of technology exhibits related to summit sessions, will also be introduced. The summit will also include off-site experiences on October 24 that attendees can participate in to enhance their learning experience.
