Spartanburg County residents have the opportunity to take part in the Live Healthy Spartanburg survey, which is now available. The survey takes approximately 7-10 minutes to complete and will help guide officials in making decisions to improve the health of residents in the county. Jalisa Jordan, the program manager for Live Healthy Spartanburg, emphasized the importance of community input in the survey.
The survey is conducted every three to five years and asks residents about their health needs within their own community. Questions range from access to healthy foods at grocery stores to affordable options for buying fruits and vegetables on a weekly basis. Residents are also asked about access to areas for physical activity in their community.
Live Healthy Spartanburg has over 70 partners, including Access Health Spartanburg. Staci Roberts, the program director for Access Health Spartanburg, highlighted how the survey results will help tailor programs like theirs to focus on improving health outcomes. The survey will be open to Spartanburg County residents until July 31, 2024.
Partners like Access Health Spartanburg, which is affiliated with Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, use data from the survey to create programs that address issues such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. By gathering input from residents, these organizations can better understand the needs of the community and work towards improving the overall health and well-being of Spartanburg County.
