Sports and Dive Bar Meets Memetic Infamy: The Opening of Floridaman on the Eastside Beltline Next Month

A new sports and dive bar, Floridaman, will be opening on the second floor of Breaker Breaker on the Eastside Beltline next month. The bar is named after a persona commonly used in news headlines that has become a meme. Inspired by their own experiences growing up in Florida, where such bizarre incidents are a regular occurrence along the Gulf Coast, this concept was brought to life.

The atmosphere at Floridaman will be tropical and reminiscent of Breaker Breaker’s vibe. The space will feature patterned lounge furniture, artwork, lighting installations, and tropical plants. Seating will overlook the Beltline, offering guests a unique view while they relax and unwind.

Floridaman will offer two potent frozen cocktails on tap, along with a beer and wine list and a selection of canned cocktails. The food menu will feature handheld items and dips that pair well with drinks. One of the signature dishes will be the Floridaman sandwich, a twist on the Tampa Cuban featuring roasted chicken, ham, salami, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and mayonnaise.

The team behind Floridaman includes Alex Brounstein
