On Monday afternoon, firefighters in Springfield responded to a massive blaze at the Superior Rental location on Kearney Street. The visible flames were reported from I-44 and Highway 65, but luckily, the fire was contained to just two forklifts with no injuries. Fire crews worked tirelessly to control the fire and were assisted by Springfield City Utilities in addressing powerline concerns in the area.
Springfield City Utilities played a crucial role in ensuring that powerlines were not affected by the blaze. Despite their efforts, however, there were still 60 outages reported in the area. According to the CU Outage Map, these outages have since been fixed.
Despite the damage caused by the fire, firefighters were able to contain it without any injuries being reported. They quickly sprang into action and worked closely with Springfield City Utilities to prevent any further damage or powerline issues. The forklifts at Superior Rental were the only items impacted by the fire, with no other structures being harmed. Thanks to their quick response and coordination, emergency personnel were able to bring the situation under control without any casualties.
