Spokane’s Next Generation Gets Excited About New Technology During Navy Week

Spokane, Washington is one of the 15 cities to host Navy Week festivities, leading up to the annual Armed Forces Torch Light Parade. The local community and schools are actively participating in the celebrations. St. Aloysius Catholic School was one of the schools that had the opportunity to take part in the exciting events.

Chief Devin, stationed at Naval Base Kitsap, answered students’ questions about the operations carried out by Washington Naval teams on a daily basis. The students saw sonar submarine vehicles, operated by Chief Devin and his team, providing a glimpse into the future of naval operations. These underwater vehicles utilize new technology and can be used in various locations around the world.

The students were highly interested in learning about these operations, emphasizing the Navy’s goal of inspiring and informing the next generation of service members.
