Tel Aviv University Nursing Students to Receive Degree in 3.5 Years, Start Careers Six Months Earlier

Tel Aviv University to Accelerate Nursing Studies Duration

The nursing students in Tel Aviv will now have a shortened bachelor’s degree program lasting 3 and a half years instead of the usual 4 years. This change will allow graduates to take the government licensing exam in March instead of September, enabling them to enter the workforce six months earlier. The Department of Nursing emphasizes that this update only affects the layout of the courses, not the hours or academic requirements.

Head of the Department of Nursing, Prof. Tzvia Bar-Noy, explained that the adjustment to the course layout is aimed at meeting national needs and providing skilled personnel to medical teams. This initiative is part of their efforts to contribute to Israel’s national mission of increasing the number of nurses in Israel. Graduates will receive their certification six months earlier and be able to integrate into the labor market sooner.

The curriculum for nursing students will end at the end of the first semester of the fourth year without burdening students in other years. This change is expected to allow for a more efficient and effective education process for nursing students while maintaining high academic standards at Tel Aviv University. With this new timeline, students can start their careers sooner and make valuable contributions to Israel’s healthcare system.
