The Case of Missing Teacher: Unraveling the Mystery of Helmut Strigl’s Disappearance in Rennertshofen, Bavaria

3000 Euro reward offered for information on missing teacher Helmut for six years

In Rennertshofen, Bavaria, the search for retired schoolteacher Helmut Strigl continues. Missing for several years, Strigl was last seen in June 2018 and his cousin reported him missing in November 2021. A TV show called “Case number XY… Unsolved” is currently assisting the police in locating the man.

Strigl lived on a former farm in Rennertshofen-Trugenhofen near Neuburg an der Donau and had limited social contacts. He taught middle schools in the Neuburg an der Donau area until his retirement in early 2018. Following his retirement, he disappeared without a trace. However, investigators discovered that his retirement payments continued to be made into his account for years, but were then transferred to other accounts with forged signatures on transfer orders. The police suspect foul play in Strigl’s disappearance and believe he may have been a victim of a crime.

One individual who worked for Strigl has already been convicted of forgery and is currently serving a prison sentence. This person had been a driver for Strigl after the teacher lost his license in 2011 due to drunk driving incidents. The police suspect that Strigl may no longer be alive, with his body possibly located shortly after he was last seen in 2018.

The investigation is now focused on three key questions: who may have seen Strigl after mid-June 2018, who may have come across his BMW 318i sedan with license plate ND-HA 36 between June 2018 and June 2019, and who might have seen his trailer with license plate ND-G 673 after June 2018. A reward of €3,000 has been offered for any information that may lead to finding Strigl. Any tips or information can be reported to the Ingolstadt police at [insert phone number].
