Yahoo Sports ranks the top outfielders in July 2024

The July rest-of-season rankings for outfielders are here. I have ranked the players based on their 5×5 value going forward, and I will present my way-too-early 2025 rankings in the same format in two weeks.

Here are my thoughts on each player:

Victor Scott II (130th), Seth Brown (152nd), Kyle Stowers (154th), Johnathan Rodriguez (162nd), Dylan Carlson (163rd), Michael A. Taylor (164th), Adam Frazier (168th), Dane Myers (169th), Oscar Colás (170th): These players have all shown potential but have not quite lived up to expectations so far this season. James Wood is an exception at No. 53 as he has made significant improvements since last season. Heliot Ramos has struggled with strikeouts and a tough environment for right-handed power in San Francisco, while Garrett Mitchell’s return from injury may not result in regular playing time. Chas McCormick and Joey Loperfido both need more playing time to prove their worth, but the Astros seem hesitant to give them that opportunity at the moment.

In summary, while some of these players have shown promise so far this season, they still need to improve before they can be considered true top prospects in the outfield position for fantasy leagues.
