Tulkarm Tragedy: Israeli Bullets Kill Woman, Child and Injure Four during Military Operation

Israeli army operation in Tulkarm results in deaths of woman and child

During a military operation in Tulkarm, a city in the northern West Bank, Israeli army bullets killed a woman and a child. Four citizens were also injured in the incident, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The Israeli military did not respond immediately to the reports from the Palestinian ministry.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing Israeli military vehicles and a bulldozer heading towards Nour Shams refugee camp east of Tulkarm. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated that they were assisting three injuries resulting from the incursion into the Nour Shams camp, including severe beatings and shrapnel wounds. An elderly woman and another woman were among those injured.

In addition to this, the Islamic Jihad movement mourned the death of a fighter from Tulkarm Battalion who was killed in an Israeli drone strike in Al-Manshiya neighborhood of Nour Shams camp. The Ministry of Health confirmed one fatality and five injuries, with two individuals in critical condition due to Israeli shelling.

The violence in the West Bank has been rising for over a year and escalated further during the conflict between Israel and Hamas. At least 556 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces or settlers since the conflict began earlier this year. Despite claims by Israeli military operations targeting armed Palestinian groups, civilian casualties are frequent.
