Twenty Killed in Israeli Attacks on Gaza Town: Hamas Reports Tragic Loss of Life Amid Planned Offensive

Hamas-run health authority reports 27 killed in Israeli attacks on Rafah

At least 27 Palestinians have tragically lost their lives in recent Israeli attacks on Rafah, a city in the southern Gaza Strip, according to the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry. The attacks took place overnight, resulting in the deaths of 20 individuals in residential buildings in the border town. Additionally, seven members of a family in Rafah were reportedly killed in shelling on Monday morning. However, the information has not been independently verified.

The Israeli army spokesman stated that they are unable to comment on the incidents without having the exact coordinates. Israel has announced plans to launch an offensive in Rafah to eliminate the remaining strongholds of Hamas, the Palestinian militant group. Despite this, Israel’s allies have urged caution as hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinian civilians are currently seeking shelter in the city.

However, there is still a possibility that the planned military operation could be avoided as a Hamas delegation has traveled to Egypt for negotiations. The discussions will center on the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The outcome of these talks remains uncertain but offers a glimmer of hope for potentially easing tensions in the region.
