Ty Gibbs Wins Pole Position for Coca-Cola 600, Chevrolet Dominates Race

The Sunday Starting Lineup for Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte

Ty Gibbs has won the pole position for Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600, adding to his victory in the Xfinity Series race on Saturday. He was among four Toyota drivers who made it to the final round of qualifying, alongside Christopher Bell, Martin Truex Jr., and Tyler Reddick. William Byron was the fastest Chevrolet driver and will start next to Gibbs on the front row, with all four Hendrick Motorsports cars qualifying within the top 10.

In the Xfinity Series race on Saturday, Cole Custer and Austin Hill were involved in a crash that heightened tensions on the 1.5-mile track. Ross Chastain joined Byron as the fifth Chevrolet driver to advance to the second round of qualifying. Michael McDowell was the sole Ford driver to make it to the second round, securing a ninth-place starting position.

Despite not reaching the final round of qualifying, past winners of the Coca-Cola 600 Denny Hamlin and Ryan Blaney will start the race in 11th and 16th place, respectively. The Coca-Cola 600 will be broadcasted on Fox at 6 p.m. ET, with pre-race coverage beginning on FS1 at 4:30 p.m. before transitioning to Fox at 5:30 p.m.
