Narendra Modi praises Team India for winning T20 World Cup in meeting

The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, recently clinched the T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa. After their victory, they faced delays in Bridgetown, Barbados due to a hurricane before finally arriving in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the championship team at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg (LKM), and engaged in a conversation with them about their journey throughout the tournament.

In a video released by the Prime Minister’s Office, players were seen in a relaxed discussion with Modi, with Rohit Sharma seated next to him and head coach Rahul Dravid on the other side. The players were dressed in special ‘CHAMPIONS’ jerseys with two stars, representing their two T20 World Cup victories. The atmosphere was jovial, with players visibly pleased to interact with the Prime Minister.

During the meeting, BCCI president Roger Binny and secretary Jay Shah presented Prime Minister Modi with a customized Team India jersey featuring ‘NAMO’ and the number ‘1’ as a gesture of appreciation and respect towards the Prime Minister. Expressing his happiness on social media, Prime Minister Modi called it a memorable meeting with the World Cup-winning team.
