US State Department spokesman highlights diplomatic efforts in the region: Deputy Secretary of State James O’Brien’s visits to Azerbaijan and Croatia.

Miller: Washington remains committed to diplomatic solutions in the region

Diplomatic efforts are underway in the region, as highlighted by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller. Washington is actively engaged in addressing various issues through regular visits from assistant secretaries of state and other high-ranking officials.

In June, US Deputy Secretary of State James O’Brien will be visiting Azerbaijan and Croatia to meet with leaders and discuss pressing matters. During his visit to Baku, O’Brien will meet with President Ilham Aliyev and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov to address concerns related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Earlier in June, O’Brien co-chaired a strategic dialogue session with Armenian officials in Yerevan. In an interview, he emphasized the importance of Armenia and Azerbaijan reaching an agreement on a peace treaty and urged both sides to end the practice of making demands and engaging in further negotiations.

In May, amid widespread protests against a controversial law on “foreign agents” in Georgia, US Deputy Secretary of State visited Tbilisi to underscore the US’s interest in the region’s developments and its diplomatic efforts to address emerging issues.
