UVA Health Children’s Launches Cares for Kids Radiothon to Boost Childhood Health Care Initiatives

Charlottesville Radio Group to Hold Radiothon Benefitting UVA Health Children’s

UVA Health Children’s is hosting the Cares for Kids Radiothon as part of its week of giving. The Battle Building at UVA Health Children’s will be the location for this event, which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday across five radio stations owned by the Charlottesville Radio Group.

During the radiothon, listeners will hear compelling stories from patients’ families, UVA Health Children’s child-life specialists, and hospital leaders. The five radio stations airing the radiothon are 97.5 3WV, Z95.1, 106.1 The Corner, 92.7 C-Ville Country, and Newsradio 98.9 and 1070 WINA.

The funds raised during the radiothon will support several initiatives at UVA Health Children’s, including expanding the neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric intensive care unit, implementing family-centered care programs, improving services at the UVA Health Children’s Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Care clinic, enhancing the pediatric cardiology program, and strengthening the pediatric cancer program.
