Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic receives $10,000 donation from UVA Health Prince William Medical Center

The Catholic Charities Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic in Manassas and Woodbridge has received a $10,000 donation from UVA Health in honor of National Doctors’ Day. This donation recognizes the exceptional service provided by physicians in the community, particularly those who volunteer their time to provide free medical care to the uninsured and underinsured population.

Erik Shannon, Chief Operating Officer of Community Health, emphasized the dedication of the doctors at Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic in serving patients in Prince William and the surrounding area. The clinic offers a range of services including annual physicals, disease management, sick visits, prenatal care, health and wellness classes, eye exams and more. The doctors and nurses at the clinic volunteer their time to deliver quality healthcare services to those in need. Additionally, the clinic offers access to integrated services such as counseling, emergency food assistance and workforce development.

Alexandra Luevano, clinic director at Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic expressed gratitude towards UVA Health for their consistent support over the years. She stated that this donation reflects UVA Health’s ongoing commitment to promoting the health of Prince William County community through partnership with clinics like Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic that offer free medical care to uninsured and underinsured population.

In addition to this donation, UVA Health has also donated a total of $50,000 across its service area on National Doctors’ Day to various partners ranging from Charlottesville to Northern Virginia and Culpeper. This gesture reaffirms UVA Health’s commitment to recognizing the hard work and dedication of physicians in their communities while also promoting healthcare accessibility for all.
