Veterans in Laredo Invited to Enroll in VA Health Care through Phase Two of PACT Act: Important Benefits and Information Session Provided

Town Hall Meeting at the University of Texas at Laredo on the PACT Act Hosted by VA Texas Valley Health Care

On Wednesday, May 22 at 6 p.m., veterans in Laredo and the surrounding areas are invited to attend an event hosted by VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend. The event will focus on phase two of the PACT Act and provide information about VA health care enrollment and benefits for veterans, their families, and survivors.

The address for the event is 1937 Bustamante Street, Laredo, Texas 78041. This event comes after the VA announced that all veterans who were exposed to toxins or other hazards during their military service are now eligible to enroll directly in VA health care as of March 5, 2024. This means that veterans from various conflicts and deployments, including the Vietnam War, Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Global War on Terror, can enroll in VA health care without first applying for benefits. Even veterans who were exposed to toxins or hazards during training or active duty in the United States are eligible to enroll.

The VA health care enrollment event and PACT Act Town Hall will take place on Wednesday, May 22 at 6:00 p.m., providing valuable information for veterans in Laredo and surrounding areas. Media representatives can request interviews with local leadership by contacting Hugo Martinez at [Hugo.Martinez@va.gov](mailto:Hugo.Martinez@va.gov).
