Virat Kohli is a former captain of the Indian cricket team and one of the most successful T20I players in history. He played 125 T20I matches, scoring 4188 runs with an impressive average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04. He holds the title of being the second-highest scorer in the T20I format, just behind Shane Watson’s 5939 runs.

As captain across formats for Team India, Kohli dominated the run scorers’ charts in T20 World Cups with 1292 runs in 35 matches. He is the only player to have been the highest run scorer in two different T20 World Cup editions, including scoring 319 runs in the 2014 World Cup in Bangladesh and 296 runs in the 2022 edition in Australia, with his 2014 run tally being the highest for any batsman in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.
