The official account of the Chancellery of Volodymyr Zelensky’s government announced her arrival to society with a video at 3:33 in the morning.
In the video, Shi appears as a young woman with dark hair, dressed in black with a pin featuring the colors of Ukraine on her suit. She introduces herself as created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs using Artificial Intelligence to provide high-quality information on relevant topics. Shi explains that she is a digital person and that her audio and video content is generated by AI. Her tasks include informing the public about consular affairs in Ukraine and providing information to the press about the work of consulates around the world.
Shi also guides viewers on how to identify original content through a QR code that leads to the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The video is presented as a step towards the future and an initiative showcasing Ukraine’s technological progress. While government officials did not reference Shi on their social media accounts, Ukraine’s representative to the United Nations praised innovation as a reflection of their country’s commitment to technological advancement.
