The Commanders have recently added to their team roster by signing veteran quarterback Jeff Driskel. Driskel, who was a sixth-round pick in 2016, has played in 24 games with 12 starts for various teams including the Bengals, Lions, Broncos, Texans and Browns. In his most recent game with the Browns in 2023, he completed 13-of-26 passes for 166 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Turning 31 later this month, Driskel is now the third quarterback on Washington’s roster alongside Marcus Mariota and Jake Fromm. Despite this addition, the Commanders are still expected to select a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft.
With Driskel’s arrival, Washington’s roster gains more depth at the quarterback position and adds experience as they prepare for the upcoming season. As they begin their offseason program with new head coach Dan Quinn on Tuesday, the team looks forward to continuing its development for the next campaign.
