West Virginia Set to Take on Pacific in Quarterfinals of 2024 UTR Sports NIT Championship

The West Virginia University tennis team is set to compete in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 UTR Sports NIT Championship against Pacific at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 6, at the IMG Academy Tennis Courts in Bradenton, Florida. This will be the first meeting between West Virginia and Pacific.

West Virginia has had a successful season, led by senior Momoko Nagato, redshirt sophomore Maja Dodik, and junior Tatiana Lipatova in singles play. The pairings of Nagato and junior Michaela Kucharova, as well as graduate student Ting-Pei Chang and Lipatova have been successful in doubles play.

This marks West Virginia’s first postseason tournament appearance in program history. They wrapped up a successful regular season with 14 wins, marking their first winning season since 2010 and their most Big 12 wins in a single season since joining the conference in 2013.
