WWE Backlash 2023: World Heavyweight and US Championship Battles Set for May 4

WWE Backlash to feature World Heavyweight Championship Match

WWE Backlash on May 4 will feature a World Heavyweight Championship match as Damian Priest announced on the April 15 episode of RAW that he would be defending his title against Jey Uso. Uso earned his shot at the title by defeating Drew McIntyre, Ricochet, and Bronson Reed in a four-way match on the same episode of RAW.

Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE WrestleMania 40 by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on Drew McIntyre, who had just dethroned Seth Rollins. However, CM Punk’s interference in the match cost McIntyre the victory and directly led to Uso’s win.

Cody Rhodes is also set to defend his title at Backlash. The challenger for Rhodes will be determined on the April 19 episode of WWE SmackDown, where LA Knight will face AJ Styles.

Stay tuned for more updates on WWE Backlash and the upcoming matches.
